Become a CPN Ambassador for people we serve!
Services for people with developmental disabilities are being confronted with challenges that were unimaginable only one year ago. Rhode Island is nationally recognized for its high quality, cost effective and innovative programs in providing services to people with developmental disabilities, but now, real threats exist to the continuation of programs that families, staff, volunteers and citizens of good will have taken decades to build.
As Executive Director of the Community Provider Network of Rhode Island (CPNRI), I see the challenges so many of our families, consumers and service providers confront. I believe it is essential that we work together to support and expand services for the people we care so much about.
With the support of the Community Provider Network of Rhode Island’s Board of Directors, I am leading an effort to develop a corps of “CPNRI Ambassadors” who will be critical in helping us reach our goals of
Building public awareness of CPNRI and its members (service provider agencies)
Informing and educating the public on the value and contributions agencies make everyday in the lives of people with disabilities
Informing and educating the public about the service Direct Support Professionals provide to people with disabilities so that they are able to live and work in the community.
“CPNRI Ambassadors” will reach out to our community, policy-makers and legislators to share the important story as to why services are critically needed. As an Ambassador, you will receive communications regarding important DD related legislation, policy developments, and proposed changes in service delivery. You will be asked at critical times to assist in contacting key officials who set state policy and practice. Training and detailed background information will be provided.
For more information on how you can become a “CPNRI Ambassador” or to learn more about the Community Provider Network of Rhode Island, please contact CPN at 295-5757.
I look forward to working with you to improve the lives of people with developmental disabilities.
Sincerely,
Donna Martin Executive Director
