Avatar is a private organization which was founded in 1991 as a certified provider of residential services to people who have developmental disabilities.
In addition to the operation of eleven homes in the state of Rhode Island, Avatar also supports people who live in their own homes or with their families. Currently, we provide services to seventy people. The homes we operate are licensed, funded, and monitored by the Division of Developmental Disabilities.
This organization's vision for the individuals who are supported by our residential services is one in which each person is able to attain personal fulfillment and maximum independence. To this end the mission of Avatar is to:
