2007 Description of Services:

The Mission of the Rhode Island Disability Vote Project is to mobilize the disability vote through building a nonpartisan and powerful voting bloc of people and organizations interested in disability issues. 

The Project coordinator will work directly with each member organization to develop a customized voter registration, education, and turnout plan. Below is a summary of some of the services that RIDVP will provide.

 

Increase the POWER of your organization
through voting!

 

Civics and Voting 101: a series of three trainings on how government works and how to get involved;

Support for designing and implementing successful voter education and mobilization campaigns;

Disability Voter Education resources, with information on where the candidates stand on the issues;

Access to state-of-the-art technologies that will maximize the voting potential of your organization’s mailing list by identifying unregistered voters, frequent voters and their districts, through confidential list enhancement;

Planning and strategizing to develop a legislative advocacy program to make your organization more effective;

Become part of a dynamic network of twenty-four disability organizations, to build relationships and form partnerships around issues that you care about;

Join Disability Vote Action, an email newsletter of important voting and government related events for the RI Disability Community;

Advocate for the rights of all Rhode Islanders to vote independently through the Freedom Committee!
