Established in 1981, West Bay Residential Services, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization providing services to people challenged by differing abilities. With a staff of more than 350 team members, we provide support to more than 130 individuals in communities across Rhode Island. Our focus is to help individuals make choices, and friends, maintain family relationships, and have fun while establishing their role in the community.
West Bay Residential Services began servicing people with developmental disabilities in 1981, answering a call to provide residential opportunities to people with severe cognitive impairments and complex medical needs when the State of Rhode Island was under court order to close its only institution, the Ladd Center.
In 2006 we celebrated 25 years of opportunity, challenges and successes. However our journey has just begun. The future success of West Bay will be measured by the continued successes and accomplishments of the people we support. Our dream for inclusion, acceptance and equal opportunities will only be realized through the vision and perseverance of West Bay, with the support of its members and the community.
