On January 6, 2014, the Civil Rights Division found that the State of Rhode
Island violated Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 as
interpreted by the Supreme Court’s decision in Olmstead v. LC (1999),
which found the unjustified segregation of people with disabilities is a
form of unlawful discrimination.
